Editorial Guidlines

The Editorial Guidelines hereinafter appearing have the purpose to help you understand the requirements your article must meet. Please read our Editorial Guidelines before submitting your article on GetACoder.

Article Title:

- Any title submitted in all CAPS will be changed to Upper Caps and Lower Caps.
- Moderate your use of quotation marks in a title. Use them for emphasis or to call attention to a specific word, but don’t put them all over it.
- Don’t put a period at the end of your title.
- No need to capitalize words like prepositions.
- Don’t make excessive use of punctuation marks; one “!” is enough.
- Don’t put your author name or any website url in your title.
- Don’t put spaces before the start of your title.
- Don’t put your title inside the article body.
- Do not overdo on the keywords. Your title should be intelligible and pleasant.

Keyword Use:

- We reject keywords which are completely unrelated to your article’s content.
- Pick a minimum of 4-5 keywords and a maximum of 25.
- Make sure you put a comma between each keyword.

Author Name:

- You must include an author name or GetACoder username in the article
- Please do not repeat your author name at the top of the article body.
- Your author name must be a GetACoder username or a first and last name.
- Capitalize the first letter of your first and last name.
- Company names and e-mail addresses are not author names.
- Author names do not include adjectives, nouns or any other words besides names.
- If your article was co-authored, then please out the co-author’s name in the resource box. We will make the necessary adjustments.
- No religious titles before or after your author name.
- Only doctoral-level degrees are allowed after your author name.
- All the rules above apply to pen-names, pseudonyms, etc.
- The Author Terms of Service apply to pen-names, pseudonyms, etc.

Article Body:

- We do not accept articles with less than 350 words and more than 3500 words. An ideal article would have between 500-800 words.
- Copyright notice must be at the bottom of the article body.
- Reprint rights statements must be put at the bottom of the article body.
- Do not engage in blatant self-promotion in the article body. Use the resource box to advertise yourself, your website or your product.

- The following HTML tags are allowed in the article body:

- The following HTML tags are not allowed in the article body:

3. <IMG SRC>
4. <JAVASCRIPT>
5. <HR>
6. Nor any font size or colour tags.

Final notes:

- Remove excess spaces
- Do not forget to close each tag you open. Authors commonly forget to do this.

Website URL /Active Links:

- We allow a maximum of 3 Self-Serving Links/URLs, active or inactive, in your article, i.e. a link/URL to a website that you own or find relevant. If possible, confine your self-serving links to your Resource Box.
- Before submitting your article, double check your active links to be sure they work.
- We auto format valid URLs that are in your Resource Box, but we do not auto-format URLs that are in your article’s body.
- We reject articles in which an active link is repeated more than once.
- Your links must not contain any file to be downloaded.
- We do not accept articles with links to adult-oriented websites.
- We highly recommend including a link to your website but do not include a mailto: or email link to your personal or work email account.

Article Summary:

- Your Article Summary must have 2-5 sentences.
- Your Article Summary must not contain: the author name; blatant self-promotion; HTML tags; any website URL or Email Address.

Article Category or Sub-Category: Your article’s category and sub category must be based on its main subject.
